StartingBlocks OSS

StartingBlocks is an open source codebase that can be used by any organization to deploy the Ed-Fi API/ODS using AWS resources. It is a native cloud deployment that utilizes code released by the Ed-Fi Alliance. Additionally the EA StartingBlocks product team has added various managment functions to the StartingBlocks deployment in efforts to create tooling to ease management and administration of environments.

NOTE:

Currently we do not support deployments of the Ed-Fi Admin App for StartingBlocks v7.1. There is no Admin App currently supported by the alliance that is compatible with Ed-Fi v7.x. When there is a release of the Admin App for v7.x, we are commited to supporting it in StartingBlocks.

The repository includes the code artifacts as well as guiding documentation for deployment and environment configuration.

Licensing

StartingBlocks OSS is currently licensed under the Mozilla Public License v2.0. There is no restriction on usage, but we do hope that users of the OSS codebase think about contributing enhancements and features back to the original project.
